Doctoral Candidate (m/f/d)
at the Center for Translational Bone, Joint, and Soft Tissue Research
The position is to be filled full-time, limited to 3 years starting from March 1, 2026.
This position is part of the European doctoral network “SHIELD” (Strategies for Healing Implant-associated infections and Enhancing Longevity in Devices), which offers 16 early-career researchers a unique opportunity to help shape the future of managing implant-associated infections (IAIs). The focus is on in-depth research of the complex mechanisms causing IAIs, as well as the development of novel antibacterial biomaterials.
The aim of the position is to develop innovative hydrogel-based bacteriophage formulations to effectively combat oral biofilms on metallic implant surfaces in the future, thereby sustainably improving the treatment of implant infections and significantly extending the lifespan of medical implants.
