Research Associate / Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d)

at the Department of Experimental Dermatology

 

 

The full-time position is available at the earliest possible date, and is initially limited to three years. Salary is based on the provisions of the applicable labour agreement. Depending on the personal requirements, classification in pay grade E13 is possible.

 

The project “The interplay of Caspase-8 and p53 in therapy resistance and progression of malignant melanoma” is associated to the group of Prof. Dr. Dagmar Kulms. 

The primary working language for this position is English.

 

 

This position requires your full expertise – Your responsibilities:

 

  • Independent realization and coordination of the research project funded by the German Cancer Aid (Deutsche Krebshilfe)

  • Planning, design, and implementation of cellular and molecular biology experiments

  • Establishment and application of modern cell culture techniques, including primary and genetically modified cell lines (GMOs)

  • Performance of database research, statistical analyses, and scientific data evaluation

  • Application of immunocytochemical, histological, and microscopic methods (e.g., laser scanning techniques)

  • Independent organization and coordination of laboratory operations, including material management and supervision of personnel

  • Preparation of third-party funding applications and contribution to scientific publications

 

 

A perfect fit – Your profile:

 

  • Degree in Biology or Life Sciences (Diploma or Master of Science)

  • Doctoral degree (PhD) as Dr. rer. med. or Dr. rer. nat.

  • Extensive experience in antibiotic-free cell culture and isolation of tumor cells

  • In-depth knowledge of apoptotic signal transduction pathways

  • Confident handling of confocal microscopy

  • Experience in database analyses and statistical evaluation

  • Comprehensive expertise in molecular biological and biochemical techniques (e.g., FPLC, cloning, Western blot)

  • Very good command of English, both written and spoken

  • Proven experience in presenting scientific results at international conferences and congresses
